The Practice English Network
Your English does not stop at the classroom door. We have partnered with businesses across Huddersfield so you can practise in real situations, every single day.
☕ Cafés and restaurants
Show your student card. Staff know you are there to practise, not just to order — so they take the time to talk.
🛍️ Shops and takeaways
From stationery shops to takeaways, everyday errands become speaking practice with people who know your name.
🤝 Charity shop volunteering
Volunteer with local charity shops we work with. Real work experience, and English with customers all day.
This is the part you cannot get in a big city. In London or Manchester you can go months without a genuine conversation outside class. In Huddersfield the community knows our students and wants them to succeed.

Questions
What level do I need to start?
Any level, including complete beginner. Take our free test online before you come, and you will also have a short speaking interview on arrival.
When can I start?
Any Monday, except public holidays and the Christmas break from 24 December.
What is the difference between 15 and 22.5 hours?
15 hours is mornings or afternoons. 22.5 hours is both, and gets you to the next level considerably faster. Choose Intensive if you have a deadline — a university place, a job, or a visa expiry.
Do I need a visa?
It depends on your nationality and how long you plan to stay. We can provide a Letter of Acceptance, a Course Confirmation and an Accommodation Letter to support your application. We cannot advise on the application itself — for that, check the official UK government guidance.
If your course is 12, 24 or 36 weeks, you can secure your place with a fixed visa fee (£230, £290 or £350) and pay the balance once your visa is granted, or pay in full with refund protection.
Can you arrange accommodation?
Yes, through trusted local partners — shared student accommodation, a private studio, or a homestay with a British family. From £170 a week. Tell us what you prefer when you enquire.
How old do I need to be?
18 or over for our adult courses. Our Summer School programme is for younger students from age 12.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes — an end-of-course report and a certificate of completion from a British Council accredited school.
What if I need to cancel?
We generally ask for at least two weeks' notice. If a visa is refused we handle it differently — send us the official refusal letter and speak to our team.
